Bryan and Me
Bryan and Me

I was born and raised in the golden state of California.  And I think that I always believed that I would live there for the rest of my life.  And as I look back, I can see that my parents raised me with a desire to take risks, and the belief that I could be and do anything I wanted.  So, the fact that I was willing to leave my home of 27 years and move half way across the country for the man I love, doesn’t really sound unreasonalble….considering my upbringing.

I always used to kid my dad when he would start missing me and remind him that I did exactly what he raised me to do, follow my dreams.  God has a way of bringing things full circle and in May of 2012 my parents relocated to Minnesota to be closer to us. It has been the biggest blessing to have Grandma and Grandpa right around the corning from the farm. However, in 1995 I married the man of my dreams and moved to the great midwest.  My “Farmer Husband” as I like to refer to him is a strong, handsome, God-fearing man who loves his family and farming more than anything else on earth.  We currently reside on the cattle farm, managing the daily duties of raising kids and cattle.

The Turf Farm

When he is not busy with the cattle, my husband spends much time with his father managing the turf grass operation as well.  Yes, we grow Kentucky Bluegrass.  In the Summer months we are completely dedicated to the turf.  This business was something I knew nothing about until I married Bryan and began getting more involved in the every day operations of the farm.  For the most part, I spend most of my time taking care of cattle in the Summer while Bryan works long days on the sod farm.

Within the first 5 years of our marriage we were blessed with the arrival of 3 beautiful children.  Montana in 1998, Wyatt in 1999 and Wade in 2000.  Needless to say I was very busy in one area for quite some time.  During those first few years, I also started a business as a caterer with the sole intent of creating extra income for my family so that I could stay home with the kids.  Little did I know that another blessing would arrive without warning in 2007 (Wynn) and change everything.

Although my intentions were pure, my business quickly grew and became a beast I could no longer tame.  In the end of 2010 I closed my business and made the move home to recommit to my children and husband.  This shift in my life is why I started this blog.  I am passionate about many things concerning motherhood, faith and life as a result of my past experiences.

It is hard to believe ten more years has gone by. My children are growing into strong independent adults. Their lives have exponentially changed the course of mine. I am one blessed mamma, full to the brim with love, laughter and a little bit of life under my belt in the year 2020.  I am still hopeful to engage many in an exchange of thoughts and ideas about life as a women in the world of today and shed some light on the pitfalls I have worked myself through in 25 years of marriage and motherhood.

In addition to raising children God has given me a heart for women and the struggles they go through each and every day.  In the past few years He has opened doors for me to speak in churches and business venues all over the state, encouraging them about who they are and how the Lord sees them.  I enjoy every minute I am given in the presence of other women. They inspire me to be more.
